The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Maj- Gen. Farouk Yahaya, has told injured troops involved in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations amid the fight against Boko Haram that Nigerians are proud of their sacrifices towards bringing back peace to the North-East region.
Yahaya, in a statement by Ado Isa, the Deputy Director Public Relations, 7 Division Nigerian Army/Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Hadin Kai, on Saturday, also prayed for their speedy recovery.
The COAS also assured the wounded troops of good welfare and medical care.
“The COAS gave the assurances on Friday when he visited the 7 Division Hospital and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital to commiserate with the sick and wounded in action troops recuperating at the medical facilities.
“He averred that the nation [Nigeria] is indeed proud of their selfless service and sacrifices towards restoring peace to the North-East region.
“The COAS also appreciated the commitment and selflessness of the troops in the Theatre and implored them to exhibit a high level of professionalism and ensure that all remnants of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists are neutralized,” the statement read in part.
