COVID-19: Only Committed States Would Receive Vaccines – FG

The Federal Government has set a condition for states in order to be eligible to receive vaccines when they arrive Nigeria.

The Director, Logistics and Health Commodities, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Hajia Kubura Daradara, said on Friday during a webinar hosted by the agency that government would not release the vaccines to the states until the states are ready to administer them.

She emphasized that only states that show commitment in administering the vaccines within five days to retain their potency would receive the vaccines.

It had been disclosed by the federal government that the first batch of the vaccines would arrive the country between January and February.

It also explained that the expected number of doses of vaccines is 100,000 and that they are for 50,000 Nigerians as the vaccines would be taken twice by each person at an interval of 21 days.
