That Telecommunication providers are not finding business interesting anymore is stating the obvious. â€ŽUsing all available means to extort subscribers, one of Nigeria Telco company is currently defrauding it’s subscribers with what they called ‘outdated subscription codes’
The so called ‘outdated subscription codes’ which is still visible on Etisalat official website, according to a customer care agent is outdated. A subscriber who recently bought data plan had a faceoff with the customer care agent.
The subscriber (name withheld) told societyreelnews, that he recharged an airtime worth N1000, then subscribed with code *229*2*7# that worth1gb data. It was added that a confirmation sms was sent and the data became active only to stop working almost immediately.
The subscriber claimed that he immediately put a call across to Etisalat customer care and got a shocker.
“When the data stopped working,i called the customer care line only to be told that the code is outdated. She even told me that the codes available on their website for data plan for Modem will not work properly even after my money has been deducted.”
The subscriber added that he made a request on how he can enjoy the service that has been paid for, but he was told that it can only be possible with a new transaction.
“I asked her if she can help me out but she said I should buy another N1000 worth airtime and she’ll make the subscription for me from their office”.
â€ŽWith our style of getting other party side of the story, a call was put across to the corporate communication department of Etisalat and the personnel promised to revert as soon as possible. After 2hours of waiting, this report was filed.
